Inspiration of the Day: Sophie’s Challenges — Sponsor Sophie for Breakthrough
When M and I were in London we met L’s sister Sophie. She’s such a lovely person, inside and out: having graduated uni about a year ago she’s working full time and also — and here’s what makes her so special — working to raise awareness and money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer! She just amazes me. She’s only 23 and is dedicating herself so thoroughly to a cause such as breast cancer. I only wish I could do something as worthwhile!
So basically what she’s doing is she’s set herself some pretty incredible challenges such as the Three Peaks Challenge which she’s already completed. It involved climbing the three highest peaks in the UK within 24 hours! I am simply in awe of that girl. Her next challenge is The Kinabalu Challenge which is a race through the jungle in Borneo to the summit of Mount Kinabalu. Imagine 35 degree heat and 95% humidity. You have to be in pretty excellent shape to even attempt this, and she is! She’s been training for this for a long time and if you take a look at her blog you’ll be able to check out her fitness results as well as keep track of what she’s up to.
My reason for writing this is of course to spread the word about Sophie. I just think that what she is doing is so amazing, so inspiring, that I want as many people as possible to know about it and sponsor her! It doesn’t have to be much, every little penny counts and this is certainly a worthy cause, don’t you think? Here’s her Justgiving page if you want to take a closer look!
