That will teach me…
So I’ve been quite cocky regarding the pandemic, going on and on about how I’ve most likely already been exposed and didn’t catch it so I’m definitely not going to become ill now. Well. I have to eat my words as I am currently in bed for the sixth consecutive day with flu-like symptoms: fever, muscle aches (my skin hurts!) and extreme fatigue. I’ve no way of knowing for sure if I have it as doctors want you nowhere near their offices if you think you might have the swine flu… So I’m just stuck at home for the prescribed seven days and I am going stir crazy to the extreme! I’ve no energy to really do anything and I can’t go out and see my friends. I can’t even allow them to come over as that would mean exposing them to the illness. It sucks!
But I’m not too ill to watch tv (or stream tv shows online as I had to get rind of my tv in favour of a new bookcase a few months ago…) and I’ve now gone through all of Hell’s Kitchen, The F Word and Kitchen Nightmares. For the third time. Yep. But it’s still fun and it still leaves me veritably itching to get back in the kitchen. I’ve really no energy for cooking but the other day I felt better and I made a lovely and extremely simple spaghetti with wild mushrooms and black truffle oil. it was absolutely delicious! Also I’ve got some food left from before I became ill which I made following my dinner with Cecilie’s parents at D/S Louise, where Cecile and I shared an appetizer of Skagen salad and caplin caviar. I absolutely loved it and hurried to recreate it at home. Of course I’m too ill to make delicate little hors d’æuvres so I just had it as a sandwich. But it still tasted fantastic. Am planning to make it tomorrow (the proper, delicate version!) for Johanne’s birthday dinner (if my temperature is down to normal that is!) I’m so so so excited!
So now all I have to do is get well by tomorrow. Because there’s no way I’m missing out on one of my dearest friends’ thirtieth birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DARLING!!!
