1. Oz & James Drink to Bri­tain! Ha, ha, I nearly died laugh­ing. I love their humor­ous mix­ture of half-​truths and blatant lies, such as at about 1:55 in this clip. I quoted it in my Face­book status and no one seemed to get it. Ha ha ha! Makes me laugh.

2. Richard Yates! I brought a copy of a new trans­la­tion of The Easter Parade home to read this week and fell head over heels. Then real­ised I’ve Revolu­tion­ary Road (in Eng­lish, thank good­ness!) tucked away snugly on my book­shelf between Oscar Wilde and Gun­nhild Øyehaug who happen to be two of my favour­ite authors also. What a coinkydink!

3. Spend­ing all of Sat­urday in bliss­ful solitude, going to bed at eleven and real­ising just before going to sleep that it’s not Sunday and I’ve got a whole, ‘free’ day ahead of me! (This last one is pos­sibly my favour­ite dis­cov­ery this weekend)

I just bought myself a t-shirt online for the first time ever. The reason? It’’s just too awesome!

This has been the most amaz­ing winter in seven years. Even the cat agrees it’s won­der­ful. As long as he gets to stay on the right side of the windows.

I spent the second day of the new decade out­side in the lovely but freez­ing weather, on a walk up to Gref­sen­kollen where there is a res­taur­ant and a mag­ni­fi­cent view of Oslo and the fjord. I’ve lovely hot roses in my cheeks from the cold and I feel just won­der­fully tired. Time for a cup of tea and a glass of sherry: a per­fect ending to a per­fect day!
